JURERE, FLORIANOPOLIS, June 25 — Miss Goias, Beatrice Fontoura (26) was crowned Miss World Brazil 2016 during the 10th anniversary of the beauty pageant held at La Fontana Hall of Il Campanario Resort in Jurere beach, Florianopolis, on June 25th.

Beatrice, who stands 1.79 m in height, beat 40 other contestants for the title in a gala televised live to the whole country through Record network. A professional model, she speaks fluent English and has lived in cities such as New York, Munich, Hamburg, Hong Kong and Guangzhou.

While living in New York, Beatrice was elected as one of the contestants in TLC’s “A Model Life”, hosted by supermodel Petra Nemcova.  The reality show -which was broadcast worldwide- followed the lives of aspiring models and she was chosen to sign a contract with NEXT Models Management.

During her model years, she completed her studies through Distance Learning.  She returned to Brazil and she was admitted into Law school.

As winner of Miss World Brazil 2016, Beatrice wins a full scholarship from Estacio University and the chance to compete in Miss World.  She will also work with the Fight against Leprosy, which will be her Beauty with a Purpose project.
