2015 l Miss Earth South Africal l Final....

Miss Earth South Africa is considered by many as the best ME organization established outside the Philippines.
It is "a leadership programme that aims to empower young South African women with the knowledge and platform
to create a sustainable difference to combat the destruction of the South African natural heritage. The programe
helps to create an awareness of sustainable development, environment, wildlife and the conservation of natural
legacy in South Africa, and ultimately the preservation of Mother Earth" (excerpt). It is the only ME org with
established and concrete platform and initiatives for environment preservation.

MESA is headed by Catherine Constantinides - awarded by Carousel Production last year as the
"Best ME National Director". Before running the ME franchise in South Africa, she competed in ME 2003 but
she went unplaced that year. She is Archbishop Tutu African Oxford Fellow and Top South African Young Woman
Entrepreneur awardee for Women Empowerment. Aside from that Catherine was honoured as the South African
Youth Entrepreneur at the South African Premier Business Awards hosted by the DTI, Proudly SA and Brand SA.

She is the Co-Founder of the international climate youth network, Generation Earth which works closely with United
Nations Environment Programme across Africa. Last year, Generation Earth received the Mail & Guardian Greening
The Future Award for work done across South Africa. Catherine has shared global platforms with Heads of State, Activists,
International Business Moguls, Celebrities, Sports Stars and Freedom Fighters, ensuring that, along with these, the voice
and opinion of the youth of Africa is heard. She is the LEAD SA Executive, working on several campaigns and initiatives,
and always promoting Active Citizenship in South Africa.

Catherine is a wonderful enthusiastic leader who contributed greatly in spreading the purpose of Miss Earth.

Ilze Saunders - Miss Earth South Africa 2014 will be crowning her successor in a venue and date to be announced soon. Candidates
has been selected and they are already busy with their daily activities supported by other organizations.
