GB Awards 14: Colombia is the Country of the Year!

In 2014, Colombia has not only conquered the Miss Universe title after a long wait of 56 years, but also been named “Country of the Year”. Let’s review Colombia’s great results last year:
Miss Universe – WINNER
Miss International – 2nd place
Miss Grand International – 5th place
Miss Supranational – Top 10 semi-finalist
Miss World – unplaced
What is interesting to notice is that in four of the five biggest international contests, the Colombian representatives were considered main favorites for the title.
South Africa, thanks to its Miss World victory, is 2nd, followed by the United States in 3rd, India in 4th, and Puerto Rico in 5th place.
Philippines, last year’s best country, had to settle for a discrete 21st place, while superpower Venezuela, can be found in a considerably low 25th position.
