Re: 2014 | MU | Lebanon | Krystel Loutfi ???
Here is the much anticipated interview of the Lebanese Princess of Beauty, Krystel Loutfi. She is the 2nd runner-up of Miss Lebanon 2012, and LBP’s 2012 Award Winner. Her large fan base from around the world are eager to know what she’s been up, and if she was free to represent Lebanon anytime soon. The interview will reveal a lot about her mindset, personality, and future plans as well. Make sure to rate it, leave a comment, and share it on social media.
Krystel with her beautiful mother Huguette (right), and sisters Rosy (left), and Rachel (center) after winning the 2012 Miss Lebanon 2nd runner-up titleLBP: What have you been doing since your participation in Miss Lebanon 2012? Did you graduate from the university?
KL: First of all, I would like to say that it’s been my pleasure working with you. Your site is EXCELLENT, keep it up the good work! I’m currently enrolled at the Lebanese American University, and will be graduating this Spring with a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance.
LBP: Tell us a little about yourself, and your family.
KL: I just turned 20 in December; I have 2 older sisters – Rosy (28) who is currently pursuing a career in Intellectual Property the UAE, and Rachel (25) who is working in her field of study which is Hotel Management in Beirut. I live with my mother in Zouk Mikael, where we were raised. I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, listening to music, and to make the best of my life.
LBP:We’re going back in time to 2012 right now. Has the pageant experience changed your life at all?
KL: I definitely gained a lot of experience from the pageant. I got the chance to meet a lot of amazing people and made some great friendships. My life turned back to its normal track after the pageant, but nevertheless, it’s an unforgettable experience I will remember for the rest of my life.
Krystel out and aboutLBP: You were a front runner at the pageant, a very popular candidate like the Chibany twin sisters. How does it make you feel knowing that you had earned the audience’s love, and approval?
KL: I knew that I had my family and friends’ full support, but I never expected the same from the audience. It made me really happy to know that I made a lot of people proud, and to have had the encouragement I had on and off stage, after the pageant.
LBP: You probably do know that if the Chibany sisters did not participate that year, YOU would have gone with the crown instead, and as a result represented Lebanon in the Miss Universe 2012 pageant. So many fans had associated you with Latina candidates due to your exotic beauty, and even with the Mexican Miss Universe 2010 Ximena Navarette; now, if you were to compete in MU, what would you have achieved for Lebanon, semi-finals, finals, winner? Do you think you were more prepared than Rina to take on the Miss Universe crown?
KL: The Chibany twins are very pretty, elegant, and smart girls who totally deserved the crown, and so did the other girls who were competing that year. The competition was tight and any girl could have gone home the crown, not just me. I am proud to have made it to the top 3, I was very satisfied with my performance that evening, and when the judges made their pick. It is absolutely flattering to be associated with Ximena Navarrete, I am a huge fan of her beauty! If I was to represent Lebanon, I honestly wouldn’t know where I would have made it. Rina had all the characteristics of being Miss Universe, and she still didn’t make it. After the pageant, I read a lot of critics and realized that my height was my downside – not that I am short but not a Miss Universe criteria. However, I also read that my style and dark hair would have had higher chances of winning. Who knows? The answer will remain a mystery I guess.
LBP: Why, how tall are you again?
KL: I’m 172 cm.
LBP: Our friends on Facebook page still insist that you compete in an international beauty contest, because they have faith in your beauty and qualities, would you consider other big pageants like Miss Universe 2014, to make them happy?
KL: Reading comments on your website. and FB page just boosts my self-esteem. and confidence by miles. I want to thank them for all their tremendous support, and all the people that are cheering for me. However, I will think more about this. I really like Miss Universe and I would expect her to be represented in this year.
Krystel with a relative, radiating beautyLBP: As a former Miss Lebanon pageant entrant, and a runner-up, how could the pageant be improved so that Lebanon’s representatives can achieve something?
KL: Honestly speaking, the top 10 in Miss Universe are not always prettier or smarter any better than any Miss Lebanon representative. However, I do think that the girls competing in Miss Universe are a lot more trained than us Lebanese. Some of them dedicate their childhood to pageants and have coaches training them on the hour on walking, talking, smiling etc… I think all that we need is the experience to reach the qualifications.
LBP: Name 1 thing you would want change about yourself.
KL: I am too sensitive at times that it becomes annoying to the people around me and makes them think I am too fragile, and not strong to handle things on my own.
LBP: If there is 1 local place, such as your favorite restaurant, pub, cinema, which would it be?
KL: As long as you have the right company, you would enjoy yourself wherever you are. However, I enjoy hanging out at Myu in Gemmayze – I like the ambiance and crowd in there.
Krystel with her friendsLBP: In general, what makes you smile, and what makes you mad?
KL: It doesn’t take much to make me smile, a camera can make me do that for hours, and it takes a lot to get me mad – I do not appreciate disrespect, however, it can really get to me.
LBP: You have a lot of male fans: What turns you on in a man?
KL: Like any girl, I have male fans that would like to approach me. The man I would choose to be with should be a real gentleman – the kind of guy that would pick me up, and would drop me at my house door, the one who would want to spend quality time with me, not only to have me as a pretty girl, or ‘trophy girl’ by his side.
LBP: Define the word ‘beauty’ to us.
KL: Real beauty is the natural beauty. It is not the perfect nose and lips; it is the attitude you carry on your beauty with. If you have a pretty face, and never smile, then people will get bored looking at you. Real beauty is when someone looks at you, and it makes them happy. Confidence, intellectualism, and positivity all bring out the beauty in you.
LBP: What are your future plans? Where do you see yourself in a few years from now?
KL: I am currently very focused on building my career as I mentioned earlier. In a few years, I would love to see myself working for companies such Deloitte & Touche or KPMG. I am still shooting some ads from time to time, just for the fun of it, and I wouldn’t mind doing it for the next few years or so.
LBP: It was absolutely a pleasure interviewing you, good luck with your endeavors!
