Fitness Friday!

Fitness Fridays! I must be on a roll! With workouts?! No, with giving names of the week a new name! But seriously, it helps! Fridays have now become by day for hard core weight training at the gym. The rest of the week, I usually go to core training and I do light cardio and weights. My favourite part of working out are actually the group classes. I like working out with a whole class because I get challenged. People of all ages, weight and body types are in our core classes and it challenges me because NO ONE gives up. No matter how hard an exercise is, I am motivated to move because the lady next to me who is twice my age has a stronger core than me! She's my fitspiration!


I really do enjoy going to the gym! I may have a hard time while doing the exercise but by the end of it, I feel fulfilled!


I know every year people always have their own New Year’s Resolution and I know that most of the time it's to get fit. I also know that most of the time it doesn't really happen. I know that because it has happened to me (guilty face)! This year, I wanted it to be different. Instead of "getting fit", I wanted my resolution for the new year to be: have a healthy lifestyle. I wanted this because I didn't just want to look good physically but I also wanted to feel good with the food I ate, my sleeping pattern and with the workouts that I would do. If I wanted all that to happen, I would have to eat, think, breathe and sleep healthy - it would have to be a lifestyle.

So my tip for Fitness Fridays is to start in the kitchen! I read somewhere that it's all 30% in the gym and 70% in the kitchen! Make sure to eat healthy! I always make sure that I have fresh fruits and vegetables.


Squash or cabbage? Ummm.. BOTH!


The other day, I made a quick trip to the grocery because we had some important things missing: brown rice (yes, I do eat rice) and veggies!!! I'm lucky because I love eating veggies! Make sure to eat that broccoli (it's a good carb)! :)
