Road to Miss Finland 2013. Final day May 5th

Miss Finland pageant has faced some changes this year.
For the FIRST TIME in decades Miss Finland will be chosen in May. MAY 5th.

Traditionally the new Miss Finland has been chosen in the beginning of the year, usually january or february.
But on June 2012 MTV3, that has been broadcasting the live telecast since 1961 decided to pull the plug and not continue airing the show anymore. They claimed it was no longer profitable for them to broadcast it. The ratings have not gone down, every year Miss Finland pageant is one of the most watched shows of the year. So their decision came as a suprise and the pageant was without a TV channel for months.

But no worries, the pageant has found a new home from LIV TV channel. But since it took so long to find a new "home", the organisation had to push the date further to the spring. So now, Miss Finland 2013 will be chosen May 5th.

This also means that Sara Chafak will now become the longest reigning Miss Finland
