Meet the preliminary judges

Álvaro Garnero

They will judge the 89 candidates in interviews, swimsuits and evening gowns. The preliminary jury will be responsible for the selection of 9 of the 16 semi-finalists. Other six will be picked by members of the Miss Universe Organization, and one by the general public.

- BJ Coleman – American journalist and TV personality

- Francesca Romana – Italian jewelry designers resident in Brazil

- Jimmy Nguyen – Vietnamese-American entertainment and new media lawyer

- Lara Spotts - Vice President of East Coast Development for Bravo. She is American

- Scott Lazerson - consultant with Outfit7, from the USA
