After a lot of rumors, Jamillette Gaxiola herself , confirmed that Cuba will return to the Miss Universe Pageantafter 48 years. From 1952 to 1967, Cuba sent their most beautiful women to participate in Miss Universe. Since 1968, the country stopped competing because of the financial crisis and political issues in Havana. Nowadays the Miss Cuba Pageant is held each year in Miami Florida where the largest Cuban population can be found.

Jamillette Gaxiola, 26, was appointed to represent her country at Miss Universe 2015. Previously she competed at Miss Earth 2009 in the Philippines and at Miss Grand International 2013 in Thailand where she made the TOP 10. She was also selected to represent Sinaloa and Mexican culture as Miss Mexico USA 2008. She currently lives in Las Vegas with her family. Gaxiola is an accomplished professional classical ballet dancer.
She has walked for major fashion houses like Roberto Cavalli and Fendi. Fashion is a passion for this gorgeous Latina and it most definitely runs in her family’s blood.
