The Amazing 5 of 2009

This was probably the toughest job our judges had so far, but they managed to select 5 finalists for Miss Grand Slam 2009, the amazing 5 of 2009! And they are…GB cong bo Top 5 Miss Grand Slam. Huong giang la Miss Grand Slam Asia 2009 Top5-500x196
The
amazing 5 of 2009: Larissa Ramos (Brazil Earth), Vivian Noronha Cia
(Brazil Tourism Queen), Aida Aime (Dominican Republic Universe), Chloe
Mortaud (France Universe / World) and Perla Beltran (Mexico World)

One Grand Slam winner, three 1st
runner-ups and 1 finalist / semi-finalist. It shows that beauty experts
from around the world definetely did not agree with judges’ choices in
most Grand Slam pageants last year. The runner-ups of Miss Universe,
Miss Tourism Queen and Miss World took the front line in the opinion of
those who love and have been following beauty pageants for a long time.
Let’s learn a bit more about our top 5…

Larissa Ramos, Brazil Earth
– When she was crowned Miss Brazil Earth in 2008, very few of her
countrymen believed Larissa would go far in Miss Earth. However, with
excellent runway skills and plenty of charisma, she took it all in the
Philippines, becoming Brazil’s second Miss Earth!

Vivian Noronha Cia, Brazil Tourism Queen
– The favorite among contestants, journalists and foreign judges in
China, Brazil’s Vivian Noronha Cia was defeated by Miss Russia, the
Chinese judges’ odd choice. Vivian competed in Miss World Brazil 2006
and 2008 (when she placed 2nd to Tamara Almeida) and in Miss Brazil
Universe 2007 (she was 2nd runner-up to Natalia Guimarães).

Ada Aime, Dominican Republic Universe
– Thousands of fans from around the globe felt depressed to see
Dominican beauty Ada Aime losing the Miss Universe title to Miss
Venezuela. When Ada participated in Miss World 2007 (she was also a
favorite but was ‘just’ a semi-finalist) she was 2nd in Miss Grand
Slam. Will she now take a step up??

Chloe Mortaud, France Universe / World
– GB’s favorite to win the Miss Universe crown last year, Chloe
finished in the 6th position in the Bahamas (she was a semi-finalist).
Competing in Miss World, she was a finalist and ended in an honorable
4th place (after a confusing final answer). This French beauty
certainly has many fans spread throughout the globe…

Perla Beltran, Mexico World
– Perla had one year to prepare for Miss World after she was crowned
Nuestra Belleza Mexico World 2009. Sinonymous of beauty, elegance and
class, this Mexican stunner was expected to become Mexico’s first Miss
World, but she lost to surprising Miss Gibraltar.
One of them will be chosen as Miss Grand Slam 2009. And who are the people in charge of this important choice? In addition to GB’s crew members, our special guest judges are:
- Philip Jai Johnson (Canada)
- Luciano Calcopietro (Brazil)
- Nick C (Turkey / New Zealand)
- Joseph Vitug (Philippines)
- Alvaro Favela (Mexico)
- Paul Palmero (Philippines)
- Jean-Marie Vandecasteele (Belgium)
- James (Hong Kong)
- Donald Nguyen (Vietnam)
And as we wait for our judges’ final decision, we can announce two more continental winners: Miss Australia Universe is Miss Grand Slam Oceania 2009, and Miss Vietnam World is Miss Grand Slam Asia 2009. Congratulations to both!
Soon we will meet Miss Grand Slam 2009!! Good luck to all 5!!
