Miss Philippines and Miss Vietnam: Making Waves In Miss Grand International 2013

The first edition of Miss Grand International will be held in 6 days' time and the 74 delegates worldwide gear up for Nov. 17 preliminary round.

Out of 74 pageant delegates, two contestants such as Miss Philippines and Miss Vietnam are making a lot of waves in Bangkok, Thailand.

Most of the contestants have arrived in Thailand's capital in Nov. 3 as they warmed up for the pre-pageant activities, including a tour around Bangkok's famous sights and its old capital Chiang Mai. Since this is the pageant's first edition, the organizers aim to make Miss Grand International the world's leading international beauty contest through the government's support and private organizations.

The pageant winner will have a new residence At The Tower in Midtown area of Bangkok during her reign. She will serve as an ambassador for peace to help eradicate violence and hostility around the world. Life is so much better when it's at peace and that's what pageant wants to achieve. It mainly endeavors to put an end in all forms of violence and hostility and start living in a community where color and religion are not an issue.

Ali Forbes, the first candidate to represent Miss Philippines in Miss Grand International, is making a lot waves in the pre-pageant round. She has been selected as part of the Top 10 of Best in National Costume and one of the Top 20 Best in Swimsuit contenders. Forbes wore an attire with matching layers of "banga" or pots and was one of the judge's favorites and keeps on shining amidst the sea of beautiful faces. In most international beauty pageants, Filipino candidates are always a top contender and Forbes is definitely a force to be reckoned with.

Crowned as Miss Ngoi Sao (Star) Vietnam 2012, Khanh is the country's representative for the first edition Miss Grand International. This 21-year-old beauty queen stole the judges attention when she showcased Vietnam's national costume, the traditional long dress (Ao Dai) and traditional conical hat (Non La). Her costume was designed by the famous Vietnamese designer Thuan Viet, featuring the beauty of Vietnamese silk and lotus - national flower.
